4x + y = 4......multiply by -3
3x - 5y = -43.....multiply by 4
----------------
-12x - 3y = -12 (result of multiplying by -3)
12x - 20y = - 172 (result of multiplying by 4)
---------------add
-23y = - 184
y = -184/-23
y = 8 <====
