Answer: A wetland is considered to be an ecosystem that is highly rich in flora and the water is available through out the year.

It helps in nourishing the ecosystem in a variety of ways-

  1. It provides the favorable soil quality to grow different varieties of floras.
  2. It helps in increasing the water quality.
  3. It provides a suitable habitat for the existence of numerous species.
  4. Rate of erosion of soil is low here.
  5. The wetland areas are free from the damages caused by the waves and floods.
