The length of a rectangle os 2 inches more than twice its width. Wrote an equation relating the length l of the rectangle to its width.

Let L be length and W be the width. L is twice W plus 2.
So twice W is just 2 times W --> 2W.
Then you add 2 to it ---> 2W + 2
So L = 2W +2
