The sentence "New religious movements are generally accepted into society as normal religions," is false.

Generally a new religious movement is seen as a threat to the religions already established and adopted in an area.

A new religious movement (NRM) is a religious, ethical, or spiritual group or community with practices of relatively modern origins. New religious movements are usually considered as syncretic, employing human and material assets to disseminate their ideas and worldviews, deviating from a society's traditional forms or doctrines, focused especially on the self, and having a peripheral relationship that exists in a state of tension with established societal conventions.
