One of two supplementary angles is five times the other. Find the angles. (Recall that supplementary angles are angles whose sum is 180 degrees.) Which equation can be used to solve for the smallest angle?

since one of the angles is five times the other than we will denote it with 5x. so my equation will be 5x + x = 180
6x = 180
therefore x= 180/6
x= 30

okay so to find this you need an equation to find x. for you have 5x+x=180
6x=180 divide both sides by 6 you get x=30 now you can double check. one angle is 30 and one is 5*30 see if you get 180 you 30+5*30 5*30=150+30=180 so it's correct. so x=30 so to find the smallest angles could be x=180-5x
i hope this helped you have an amazing day!!
