The answer is B. Light, light decreases with depth, affecting photosynthesis. The deeper you go into the ocean the less sunlight is present, and gives less vigorous algae.

Answer: Option B

Explanation: The algal growth is affected by the light intensity which decreases as the depth increases.

The sunlight that reaches the water surface or upto some depth in water is used by algae to make food.

As the depth increases, the amount of sunlight penetrating the water surface decreases.

So, it affects the growth of algae.
