ATP stands for Adenine triphosphate, and it powers the cell with energy to carry on homeostasis, and to provide fuel for the cell.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

For a cell to become low in ATP, it means there is not enough raw materials (macromolecules) present in the cell to produce ATP. These macromolecules are derived from the food we eat. They make up most of the food we eat. This is why we need the intake of food. These include lipids, proteins and polysaccharides. This macromolecules needs to be broken down to their simplest form for the cell to be able to utilize them either as a source of energy in form of ATP or as building blocks for other molecules . Lipids need to be broken down into fatty acids and glycerol, polysaccharides to sugars and proteins to amino acids. Thus enzymatic process of breakdown of these macromolecules include digestion, oxidation of the smaller molecules derived from digestion starting from the cytosol and completion in the mitochondria in a two stage process: glycolysis and the citric acid cycle. Thus ATP produced after these processes which is then used to drive biochemical reactions and other cellular activities.
