the distance between
(x_1,y_1) and
(x_2,y_2) is

D= √((x_1-x_2)^2+(y_1-y_2)^2)

so
distance between (-6,-1) and (4,3) is

D= √((-6-4)^2+(-1-3)^2)

D= √((-10)^2+(-4)^2)

D= √(100+16)

D= √(116)
D=2√29 or aprox 10.7703

Use the distance formula. √(x2-x1)^2 + (y2-y1)^2. √(4--6)^2+(3--1)^2. (10)^2 is 100 + (4)^2 is 16. 100+16=116, and square root of 116 is 2√29
