16 = (-6 +c) /-3
16/1 = (-6+c)/ -3
16 x -3 = 1(-6+c)
-48 = -6 + c
-c = 48 -6
-c = 42
:-1 :-1
C = -42

Ok so you multiply -3 on both sides so on the right it is -48 and then the left the -3 is cancelled out and so you are left with -6+c . You add 6 on both sides and so it is -42=c so c=-42
