Pam drove her car 99 kilometers and used 9 liters of fuel. She wants to know how many kilometers (k) can she drive with 12 liters of fuel. How many kilometers can Pam drive with 12 liters of fuel ?

Answer:

132 liters

Explanation:

First divide 99 by 9 to see how much fuel she needs per kilometer

99/9=11 now multiply 11 by 12 to get the amount of fuel she needs to drive 12 meters

12*11= 132 she needs 132 liters of fuel

Assume Pam used the same volume of fuel in every kilometres (In reality, it might not be). 12 divided by 9 is 4 over 3, this means that 12 is 4/3 times bigger than 9. 99 times 4/3 is 132.
