Jeremy is building a large deck for a community center. The deck is shaped as a rectangle. The width of the deck is 29 feet. The perimeter of the deck is to be at least 134 feet.

a. Write an inequality that represents all possible values for the length of the deck.

b. Find all possible values for the length of the deck.

Let's look at the equation for a perimeter:
P=Width * Length
We also have another equation for P:
P
\geq134ft
We know Width(29ft), so let's substitute:
(29)(Length)
\geq 134
If we isolate Length, by dividing 134/29, we get:
Length
\geq
(134)/(29)
which simplifies to about 4.6207
Therefore, I believe all possible values for the Length of the deck would be:
(
(134)/(29), ∞)
Or: {x(x≥
(134)/(29))}
Hopefully this helps!
