Answer:

We use to compute this problem the following theorem:

Pythagoream theorem:

hypotenuse²=leg₁²+leg₂²

Data:

hypotenuse=24 in

leg₁=8 in

leg₂=?

hypotenuse²=leg₁²+leg₂²

(24 in)²=(8 in)²+ leg₂²

leg₂²=(24 in)²-(8 in)²

leg₂²=576 in²-64 in²

leg₂²=512 in²

leg₂=√(512 in²)≈22.63 in

Answer: C) 22.6 inches.

You have to use the pythagorean theorem. a squared + b squared = c squared. You know a = 8 and c=24 so you have to find b. B is 22.63
