Rate is
a certain amount of one thing considered in relation to a unit of another thing. For this case, the rate given is in relation with distance and time traveled. To determine the time, we simply divide the rate to the distance to be traveled. We do as follows:
t = 380000 x 1000 m / 12000 m/s
t = 31666.67 s
