Sarah bought T-shirts and hats on sale. The T-shirts cost $12 each, and the hats cost $9 each. She bought 4 more T-shirts than hats. If she spent a total of $111, how many T-shirts and hats did she buy?

Combine like terms

21h + 48 = 111
Subtract 48 from both sides

21h = 63
Divide both sides by 21
