How do I use the system of elimination on a problem like y=5x-8 and y=-6x+3? I don't know how to get a least on one the variables to be the same so I can eliminate.

multiply the first equation by 6 and the second by 5 and add them together
6y=30x-48
5y=-30x+15
then
11y=-33
y=-3
x=1
