5 tons and 8 pounds

Explanation:

1 ton is equal to 2000 pounds.

40 tons is equal to 80000 pounds (40*2000)

80000+64=80064

80064/8 = 10008

10008 is equal to 10000+8

10000/2000 = 5

5 tons and the leftover 8 is pounds
