Many blacks wanted to retaliate. A major factor in the success of the movement was the strategy of protesting for equal rights without using violence.

Martin Luther King Jr. decided that he must use nonviolent protests to counter the violence thrown at them by racist people of the time. This greatly affected many people, and after becoming the nations attention, racial equality was borned
