Yes (8,7) does make the equation true. 8 is the x value and 7 is the y. Plug these into the equation. So you would have 7=2(8)-9 simplify to get 7=16-9 and the final answer isĀ 7=7, which makes the equation true.

Y= 2x-9 (8,7)
7= 2(8)-9
7= 16-9
7=7
Yes, since the equation is true on both sides after solving it.
