In this form of matter the particles are close together, but do not form a pattern

It is liquid because in a solid the particles are squeezed together like a rock.

the answer is liquid.

it's pretty straight forward but for an explanation; it can't be solid because although the particles are close in solid, it follows a particular order. as for gas, they don't follow any sort of pattern but the particles are spread apart. i doubt you're learning about plasma in elementary school so that crosses that out.
