You have to multiply:


-5(1)/(2)\cdot7(5)/(6)

First write the compound fractions as impropper fractions.

To do so, divide the whole number by one to express it as a fraction and add both fractions:


\begin{gathered} 5(1)/(2)=(5)/(1)+(1)/(2)\to\text{ common denominator 2} \\ \\ (5\cdot2)/(1\cdot2)+(1)/(2)=(10)/(2)+(1)/(2)=(11)/(2) \end{gathered}
\begin{gathered} 7(5)/(6)=(7)/(1)+(5)/(6)\to\text{ common denominator 6} \\ (7\cdot6)/(1\cdot6)+(5)/(6)=(42)/(6)+(5)/(6)=(47)/(6) \end{gathered}
