we have

r(x)=(8)/(3)x-16

we know that

The zero of the function is the value of x when the function is equal to zero

so

Equate the function r(x) to zero and find the value of x

(8)/(3)x-16=0

Adds
16 both sides

(8)/(3)x-16+16=0+16

(8)/(3)x=16

Multiply by
3/8 both sides

x=16*(3)/(8)\\x=6

therefore

the answer is the option C

6
