Explanation:

From the given table, the number students have brown hair =
10+8=18

The total number of students =
4+5+4+6+10+8+2+1=40

Now, the probability that a student has brown hair is given by :-


P(Br)=\frac{\text{Students with brown hair}}{\text{Total students}}\\\\\Rightarrow\ P(Br)=(18)/(40)=0.45

Hence, the probability that a student has brown hair is 0.45
