Hey, just follow these steps:

Simplifying: 10 = (2x + 1)

Reorder the terms: 10 = (1 + 2x)

Remove parenthesis around: (1 + 2x)
10 = 1 + 2x Solving 10 = 1 + 2x

Solving: 10 = 1 + 2x

Solving for variable 'x'.

Move all terms containing x to the left, all other terms to the right.

Add '-2x' to each side of the equation.
10 + -2x = 1 + 2x + -2x

Combine like terms: 2x + -2x = 0
10 + -2x = 1 + 0
10 + -2x = 1

Add '-10' to each side of the equation:
10 + -10 + -2x = 1 + -10

Combine like terms: 10 + -10 = 0
0 + -2x = 1 + -10
-2x = 1 + -10

Combine like terms: 1 + -10 = -9
-2x = -9

D
ivide each side by '-2'.
x = 4.5

Simplifying
x = 4.5

x = 4.5

Hope I helped : )
