So Thomas is 7 and Lauren is 13

Look at the square less than 62.. ok so 7 is 49

62-49 is 13

cool, lets guess and check

13 squared is 169 + 7 is 176

so we know we are right :)

Answer:

Thomas is 7 and Lauren is 13 years old

Explanation:

  1. Think about the squares of numbers less than 62. These are 1,2,3,4,5,6, and 7.
  2. And check 7 for solution. 7²+13=49+13=62 So Lauren is 13.
  3. Let's check the second equation: 13²+7=169+7=176 It is true
  4. So Thomas is 7 and Lauren is 13 years old.
