Wes mixed different juices to make fruit punch. He filled one-half of the punch bowl with orange juice. Then he filled half of the remaining space with grape juice. Finally, he filled the rest of the punch bowl with 300 mLof cherry juice. How many liters of fruit punch did Wes make?

There is 1000 ml in a liter... so 1/4 of the bowl is 0.3 liters... its 1/4 because it one half of half since the four parts you would multiply 0.3 liter by 4 sooooo he made 1.2 liters of fruit punch.. hope this helped

Answer: Wes made 1.2 liters of fruit punch .

Explanation:

Let x be the total capacity ( in milliliters) of the punch bowl.

As per given,

Amount of orange juice =
(x)/(2)

Amount of grape juice = half of remaining space

=(1)/(2)(x-(x)/(2))=(1)/(2)((x)/(2))=(x)/(4)

After filling the rest of the punch bowl with 300 mL of cherry juice, we have

(x)/(2)+(x)/(4)+300=x\\\\\Rightarrow\ (2x+x)/(4)+300=x\\\\\Rightarrow\ (3x)/(4)+300=x\\\\\Rightarrow\ x-(3x)/(4)=300\\\\\Rightarrow\ (x)/(4)=300\\\\\Rightarrow\ x=4*300=1200

Thus , Wes made 1200 milliliters.

Since , 1 liters = 1000 milliliters

Then , 1200 milliliters = 1.2 liters

Hence, Wes made 1.2 liters of fruit punch .
