The economy of southern colonies was based on an agrarian society, or farming society. Slaves were held and were a major part of the economy then. The money there was ALSO made by farming exports.

The Southern colonies economy was based on tabbaco, which grew exceptionally well, as compared to the north, which was based off of forestry and fishing. The south usually depended on slaves as was shown later in history
