The given equation is

1-(9)/(5x)=(8)/(6)

Adding -1 on both sides, we get

1-(9)/(5x)-1=(8)/(6)-1

-(9)/(5x)=(8)/(6)-1
\text{Use 1=}(6)/(6)\text{ as follows.}
-(9)/(5x)=(8)/(6)-(6)/(6)

-(9)/(5x)=(8-6)/(6)

-(9)/(5x)=(2)/(6)

-(9)/(5x)=(1)/(3)

Using the cross-product method, we get

-9*3=5x

-27=5x

Dividing by 5 into both sides, we get

-(27)/(5)=(5x)/(5)
x=-(27)/(5)=-5.4

Hence the required answer is x=-5.4.
