After the bombing of the US military base Pearl Harbor, Japanese Americans were to be relocated. This is due to the fact that the Japanese military was the one responsible for the attack on Pearl Harbor. The federal government, under the leadership of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, worried that some of these citizens may be spies working for the Japanese government. This is why he implemented Executive Order 9066, which resulted in Japanese American citizens being put into internment camps very shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor.
