The gas in a cylinder has a volume of 5 liters at a pressure of 114 kPa. The pressure of the gas is increased to 215 kPa. Assuming the temperature remains constant, what would the new volume be? ___ L

P1V1=P2V2, this is a gas law.
V1= 5L
P1= 114kPa
P2=215kPa.
We do some algebra, and get P1V1/P2=V2
(5*114)/215=2.651L
Which makes sense, you would expect the volume to have decreased, if you wanted the pressure to increase.
