Simplify the expression.

2³ times 2^5

A. 4^15
B. 4^8
C. 2^15
D. 2^8

(2^{3} ) (2^{5} )= 2^{8}
since you have a common base of "2" .. you add the exponents but if you had two different bases and the base stays the same!

(x^m)(x^n)=x^(m+n)
so

(2^3)(2^5)=2^(3+5)=2^(8)
D is answer
