y-y1=m(x-x1)
m=slope
(x1,y1) is a point

find slope first
for (x1,y1) and (x2,y2)
slope is (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
given
(-2,-2) and (2,1)
slope=(1-(-2))/(2-(-2))=(1+2)/(2+2)=3/4
slope=3/4

also,a point is (2,1)

y-1=3/4(x-2)
the person got the wrong slope
