is over of = %/100 and cross multiply
what is 15 percent of 573?
is/573=15/100
solve for "is" and you get 85.95
573-85.95=487.05 therefore the other store gives a better discount.
To find the other discount:
what percent is 458.40 of 573?
485.40/573=%/100
solve for %=84.712
100-84=16. the other store gives you a 16% discount.
