The experiment suggests the melting takes place at the surface explaining why it’s colder than the bottom at the end. The ocean is much like the salty or saturated water so based on the data collected in the lab we can infer that the sea surface temperature is warmer initially but then become colder after the iceburg melts as we saw from the temperature data in the lab.
