Jack is 16 years old
The first step is to find the age of Eric, who is 2 years younger than Mary. Mary is 50 years old, so 50-2=48. Since Eric is three times Jacks age, we have to divide 48 by 3 to find his age. This comes to 16.
(50-2)/3=x
