Four vehicles are traveling on the same road. Which vehicle most likely has the greatest kinetic energy? a compact car traveling at a velocity of 10 m/s a pickup truck traveling at a velocity of 25 m/s a minivan traveling at a velocity of 10 m/s a motorcycle traveling at a velocity of 25 m/s

Pick up truck, if it's got a large mass. kinetic energy is 1/2 mv^2. so in terms of v the truck and cycle would be neck and neck. but truck is presumably more massive.

Answer:

a pickup truck traveling at a velocity of 25 m/s

Step-by-step explanation:

The kinetic energy of an object is given by:

K=(1)/(2)mv^2

where

m is the object's mass

v is its speed

Therefore, the larger the mass and the speed of the object, the greater its kinetic energy.

Among the choices given, the object with larger mass is for sure the pickup truck; also, it is the object with larger speed (25 m/s), therefore it must be also the object with greater kinetic energy.
