450 students are graduating from Big Lake High School this year. 68 percent of these students plan to go to college next year. 14 percent plan to start working. The rest of the students don't know what they're going to do yet. How many students are not sure what they are going to do after graduating from high school

81 Students aren't sure what they are going to be doing.

First, find the number of students for each category by multiplying the percentage:

450 x .68 = 306 (306 students want to go to college)
450 x .14 = 63 (63 students are going to begin working)

Add 306 + 63 students to get 369 total students who know what they want to do.
Subtract this number from 450 students total (450-369) to get 81 students who are unsure of what they will do after graduating.

68%(plan to go to college) + 14%(plan to start working) = 82%
100% - 82% = 18% (students don't know what they're going to do )

450 x 0.18 = 81

answer: 81 students are not sure what they are going to do after graduating from high school
