One of the problems with our current electoral system is:

1.long ballots make it hard for voters to be well enough informed on candidates and issues to make good decisions

2.straight party tickets keep the majority of people away from the polls

3.too many candidates "split" the ticket

4.a popular national candidate can hurt the chances of those in the same party on a local level

The correct answer is 1) long ballots make it hard for voters to be well enough informed on candidates and issues to make good decisions

Among the most relevant problems of the United States electoral system is of course, that the election is too long a process. This makes it difficult for citizens to follow up with candidates and platforms. The system needs to update voter registration to make it easy for citizens. Experts comment that superdelegates influence and distort the vote, as well as the winner-take it all result that probably is not that good anymore.

1, because since the line is too long many voters will get tired and eventually leave which will decrease the voting population of a given party.
