the length of a rectangle is 4 less than 3 times the width. if the perimeter is 40, find the dimensions of the rectangle.

The length would be 14.
because 4 less than 3 times the width and the perimeter being 40 you would divide 40 by 2 and you get 20.
4 less than 20 would be 16 but that would make the length equal to the width, therefore, your answer is 14.
