First, we get the real dimension of the floor by using the scale in our conversion.
8 in x ( 0.4 ft / 1 in) = 3.2 ft
10 in x (0.4 ft / 1 in) = 4 ft
We get the area of the floor by multiplying its dimensions such that,
Area of the floor = (3.2 ft)(4 ft) = 12.8 ft²
Thus, the actual area of the floor is equal to 12.8 ft².
