subtract 1 from the whole equation.

simplify

divide the whole equation by -2

simplify.

-7 < 1 - 2x < 7
Subtract 1 from all sides,
-8 < -2x < 6
Divide all sides by 2,
-4 < -x < 3
Change the sign with negatives,
4 > x > -3

In short, Your Answer would be: 4 > x > -3
