A man wishes to to fence a rectangular lot which ensures 80 feet by 140 feet. The fence along the front (80 ft) of the lot costs one and one-half times as much per foot as that along the three other sides. If the total cost of the fence is $960, find the cost per foot of each type of fence.

Answer:

$2 per foot for all 3 sides standard and if the front fence is standard cost is multiplied by 1 1/2 would costs $3 at the front

Explanation:

80ft + 80ft + 140ft + 140ft = 1 1/2( 80ft) + (80ft) + (140ft) + (140ft) = 960 = 120 + 80+ 140+ 140= 480 (2) = $2 per foot for all three sides and 2( 1 1/2) = $3 per foot for front fence
