Find the difference when -3n -7 is subtracted from n+4

Write out the subtraction in the proper order. You subtract -3n-7 FROM n+4. Thus, you must write n+4 FIRST. Next, insert a subtraction sign (-), followed by (-3n-7). MUST include those parentheses!

Here's what you should get: n + 4 - (-3n-7). Now remove the parentheses, changing signs where necessary:

n+4+3n+7. combine like terms (that is, combine the "n" terms and then combine the two numerals 4 and 7.

When you simplify it the answer is -4n-3 :)
