Joan ran 200 yards divided by 40 seconds=5 seconds per yard
Bill ran 800 yards divided by 140 seconds = 5.714 seconds per yard
So Bill is at 5.7 seconds and Joan at only 5.
Joan I mean. Joan ran faster..........
