If x is the original price then the proportion you need to make is
165$ / x = 85 / 100. The 85 percent is equal to 165 because 165 is 85 percent of the original price or 100 percent. You would multiply 165 by 100 and then divide it by 85 to get $194.12. The real exact answer is 194.117647059 but I rounded up because you can't have anything under the tenths place because there is nothing less than the penny.
