The error in this problem has to do with the way the equation was set up. The answer is also wrong.

It also wants me to show work.

You would write the equation as:
180=(x-50)+19 You would use 180 as degrees because a straight line is 180
180=(x-50)+19 add the constants together
180=x-31 add 31 to 180
211=x
