In the story Frankenstein, how is the issue of Victor being held responsible for his creation’s consequences similar or different from any other stories or real life examples of scientists and technology you can think of?

It reminds me of Alfred Nobel (of Nobel Prize fame). He invented TNT and was said to regret it because it caused death and destruction.

In Frankenstein, Victor creates a creature that causes enormous destruction. However, it is unclear to what extent Victor believes this to be his fault, as he does not seem to take full responsibility for his technology.

An example of a modern case that resembles this situation is that of Zuckerberg and Face.book. Although he did not design this social media site with bad intentions, the site has been used for very negative things, and it is unclear to what extent Zuckerberg should be help responsible for these actions.
