Let

z-----> the scale factor

x------> the perimeter of the dilated rectangle

y-----> the perimeter of the original rectangle

so


z=(x)/(y)

In this problem we have


z=3.5


y=72\ ft

substitute and solve for x


3.5=(x)/(72)


x=3.5*72=252\ ft
