What is the best way to do math problems. Please give me your opinion.

1.a notebook or scratch paper
2.a calculator

a combination of both
do the hard work on the calculator but write it down on paper so if you make a mistake you can still catch it
or be like me and do your math problems on your had

for me personally i can work nearly any equation with a calculator. definitely a good choice
