Explanation:

  • A shape has a rotational symmetry if it moves onto itself under rotation of some angle about its center.

We know that a hexagon is a regular polygon having all its sides and all its angles are equal.

For a regular polygon , the order of rotation of the figure is same as the number of sides .

When we rotate hexagon up to 360° , we will get 6 times the figure such that it looks exactly the same as the original figure.

Let x be the angle at which hexagon rotate onto itself, then we have


x=(360^(\circ))/(6)=60^(\circ)

Hence, a hexagon will rotate onto itself at every
60^(\circ) .
