the combined perimeter of an equilateral triangle and a square is 10. find the dimensions of the triangle and square that produce a minimum total area

4.5 is the minimum area. the length of the sides in both shapes is 2.  first you use special right triangle rules (SOH CAH TOA). after splitting the triangle in half to find the height of the triangle.then after you find the area of the triangle and square.
